Tenure Track position Atmospheric Isotope Physics

At the Institute for Marine and Atmospheric research Utrecht (IMAU), Utrecht University, a tenure track position (0.8-1.0 fte) in Atmospheric Isotope Physics is available in the Atmospheric Physics and Chemistry Group (APCG).

It is aimed to support and complement the current strengths of the research group in the development and application of innovative isotope measurement techniques to a wide range of scientific questions in atmospheric research. The position is funded by the Netherlands Earth System Science Center (NESSC) and closely related to the novel high-resolution, high-sensitivity, isotope ratio instrument MAT 253 ULTRA that is available at IMAU. The candidate will have access to a world leading isotope laboratory dedicated to atmospheric research.

The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous research programme on the use of novel high-resolution (and traditional) isotope measurements in atmospheric and climate research, in collaboration with the existing research programme of the APCG. The candidate has keen interest in atmospheric chemistry and biogeochemical cycles and will contribute to the Utrecht University’s strategic theme Sustainability and the NESSC project. The candidate is an inspiring teacher, will play an active role in the Buys Ballot research school and will support the undergraduate and graduate education in Atmospheric Physics and Chemistry.

Application deadline 30 June 2017
