The biblical quote “for dust you are and to dust you will return” (Genesis 3:19) suggests a life cycle whereby living creatures are digested completely after there unfortunate death. “For dust we are” is scientifically correct, but we don’t always return to that dusty state. Fossils are the ‘living’ proof of that.
